Entrepreneurship or entrepreneurs can be broadly classified into two categories business entrepreneur and social entrepreneur. There are certain factors which can make you a successful entrepreneur and obviously entrepreneurs work for generating a sustainable profit by fulfilling the need in the market. But social entrepreneur are ought to be or considered as the most valued for today’s society or the future to come as the basic difference between business entrepreneur and social entrepreneur  lies in the fact that social entrepreneur’s focus beyond generating profit and measures its performance on the factor how much the business impacts the society - socially, culturally and environmentally .

The term social entrepreneurship is comparatively a new term acquiring its own popularity among the neo generation in the twenty-first century. Social entrepreneurship is the kind of entrepreneurship that aims at taking up a social problem catering to it in order to bring about a transformation, hence social entrepreneurs are said to be the future of tomorrow.

Well, we live in such a society today where we think only of ourselves, our well being. Which have a devastating effect on society, diminishing our values and culture and evidently have an adverse effect on the environment. Today’s world is driven by a fuel called profits and benefits, and none are exceptions to this. But the social entrepreneurs are the ones who try to achieve their targets keeping values for the society, they find their own success in the pursuit of helping others.

The term “entrepreneur” originated in the French economics in the early 17th and 18th century which means someone who undertakes a significant activity. Whereas the term “social entrepreneur” started taking its own value in the 20th century with increasing issues and diminishing values.

The world has started a new revolution promoting and supporting social entrepreneurship. Special entrepreneurship summit, conference and competition such as The Hult Prize, The Impact conference, Slow money conference focuses on encouraging the young entrepreneur to indulge more and more into the genre of a social entrepreneurship to make this world a better place to live in and for the generations to come.

In my previous article, I have discussed the various factors for being a successful entrepreneur. Just in addition to be a successful social entrepreneur, one needs to be extremely focused and have the perseverance to peruse the issue to irradiate it from its root. There are four pillars which are extremely essential for any business and especially for social entrepreneurship.  Accountability is how viable is the idea or how deep the social issue in which the startup will cater to. Collaboration is that factor which makes the basic foundation of the company and helps it stand strong.  Transparency helps you understand and build relations. Stretch is the ultimate factor which makes you continuously innovate, explore and extend your idea which is, in turn, the key to your growth.  Combining all these pillars can lead you to the journey of being a successful social entrepreneur.
